Hello visitor, and welcome to the online portfolio of Marije Bijl
New work is up on the art page, mostly drawings which I have been working on, some of them could be seen at Lucas Schelkens' home, some of them will be on view at Galerie Clement in Amsterdam, together with the work of Ben Kruisdijk and Jacquem, an exhibition curated by Henk Leiting.
Opening will be saturday 4th of september.
In october 2010 some of my paintings can be seen, in Paris again, at the CHIC today fair in Paris, an art fair for young talent that has been brought about in coördinance with the FIAC, France's major fair for contemporary art.Relevant links:

CHIC todayMy work was displayed at the house of the interior designer Lucas Schelkens,
Korte Prinsengracht 23 in Amsterdam. All that was on show there, the art as well as the furniture, was for sale. An excellent way to see how my work holds up in an interior, as opposed to whitened gallery walls.
Lucas opens his house on saturdays between 11 am and 5 pm, but you can of course also visit him by appointment.

On the evening of the 4th of june 2010 opened the 15th 'Zwervende tentoonstelling' (Wandering exhibit) in Rotterdam, featuring a hundred works by a hundred artists for sale for a hundred euro's, of which the artists will recieve a hundred percent. Amongst these works were be three small drawings of mine, ready to be grabbed up by those who want them.
It was a shortlived exhibition, that took place only till the 6th of june, involved a party, a reception and a good picnic in the park in excellent weather.
Some of my drawings were on show at the first edition of the 'CHIC dessin' art fair at the Atelier Richelieu in Paris from the 26th till the 29th of march 2010. I was represented there by the Galerie D'Ys, who has picked my work to represent both in Brussels as in this Parisian event it is participating in. When viewing my work here, in the virtual world, please remember that contrast and colours are very different in the small digital pictures that were made for internet use only.
